Tim Berners-Lee, the brilliant inventor of the World Wide Web and Director of the World Wide Web Consortium (aka W3C ).
He was once dubbed a global Knight Commander, Order of the British computing Empire (KBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in a London meeting on Friday,16 July 2004.
The rank of Knight Commander is the 2nd most senior rank in the Military Order of honor.

Sir Timothy Berners-Lee, KBE, 49, a British entrepreneur who lives in the United States, used widely in 2010 for providing his " services related to the international development of the Internet ".
He invented the World wide Web, a server to store, and browse Internet pages.
About World Wide Web
He also coined the name " World Wide Web, " for the first World Wide Web server, " httpd " and created the subsequent first patron program ( a compiler and text editor), titled " Worldwide server, " in October 1990.

He also wrote the first business model implementation of structured document formatting software with full capability for hypertext encoding, Recognized as HTML (Hypertext Markup Language).
His inventions for URIs, HTTP, and HTML was subtle and broadly elaborated in larger areas as Web technology spread.

A hypertext web document with its accompanying text is written in HyperText Markup Language (HTML) and is given an online interface using a Uniform Resource Locator (URL).
In April 1994, Andreessen co-founded Netscape Communications Corporation, from whose Netscape Navigator became the dominant online Web content provider soon after its release in December 1994.
The software giant Microsoft Corporation became interested in developing Internet applications on personal computers.
It developed using its Web browser, Internet Explorer (IE) browser, in 1995 to Windows 95 computers operating system.
Apple’s Safari released in 2003, as is the default browser on Macintosh personal computers and later released on iPhones (2007) and iPads desktop (2010 ).
In 2008 Google launched windows Chrome, replacing the default browser using isolated tabs, encryption.
It means ensuring that when one tab crashed, other tabs and the whole browser itself would still function.
By 2013 Chrome had become the dominant browser, potentially surpassing IE using Firefox browser in windows popularity.
